Like Allan said, they are running backwards. Yhe rock guards or scrapers will keep them from clogging. Look in a Agri-Supply catalog if you have one. You may see some pictures there. If you need to spread them more, you can attach your mounting bars from the outside instead of the underside of the tractor. You can increase the running angle to increase the amount of dirt that you want to move. Tou can also raise the inside of the cultivator where it slides on its mounting post. Raising the inside will lower the outside and you will build a higher ridge in your row. I have used these for years while cultivating tobacco. They work great and you can really move. You can go as fast as you can stay in the row.
