Jet Coating is a ceramic coating that is sprayed on at facilities who specialize in that kind of work. It is very commonly used on race car headers, etc. On headers, it can be applied both inside and out - I don't know about the inside of mufflers, but I doubt it. It keeps exhaust systems from rusting and it keeps heat inside the headers rather than letting it escape into the engine bay of a race car. "Jet Hot Coating" is merely the name of one company who performs this work. It is usually available in two or more colors, silver being the more common over black. mike
