Farmall M Live Hydraulic Pump Interface

I am looking to purchase a Live Hydraulic Pump for a 43 M. I hear that the bolt pattern is different for the newer M's and Super m's. I also hear that the addition of a live pump on an early M may stress the drivetrain. Is there a method that can be used to visually tell the two bolt patterns apart? I have some contacts with a Live pump that has an unknown origin (M or SM). Are the bolt patterns on both symmetric?
