To run lights, you need to add a generator and a battery. The magneto only puts out energy for the spark.

You can run just a battery, but then you have to put the battery on the charger when you get home. There's the distinct possibility you'll misjudge how long your lights will run, and you'll get stranded out in the middle of the field in pitch black night.
