How many oil seals to use on sw4 /super H

I finally remove the inner brake drum on My SW4 ( Thanks to all for the help ) The dealers serviceman in Springville NY told me I would have to pull the PTO and remove the top of the transmission( Boy were they wrong kind of scary to let them work on a 200,000 piece of equipment).Thats why their labor rates are so high there . Anyway I purchased oil seals for the shaft . dealer says 1 per side ,some people say 2. The length of the bore to install is 1/2 inch wide as is the old seal . The new seal is just shy of 3/8 . What are you super H and SW4 owners doing with this. The shaft is in good shape. ED
