Hobo: The reason IH didn't put grease fitting in those holes, is folks would grease then too much. It calls for grease after 500 hours or 6 months. the manual suggests you install fittings and remove them after greasing. I expect a one man show could get by with full time fittings. It originally called for regular gun grease, and I expect in NC that will work well. Years ago an IH technician reconended white automotive grease in our colder climate. They had some trouble with regular grease in -20F to -50F weather. Ed ocasionally gets the latter. He starts an out door skating rink for kids mid Nov. and they skate on it until April. I just buy squeeze tubes of the white grease, and squeeze it in the holes. It's not worth my while keeping a grease gun for white automotive grease. I expect Moly grease would work well also.
