There is no mechanical primer pump, just bleed screw at the fuel filter(s) and injection pump.
Trick is to put a small amount of air pressure in the fuel tank filler hole.
Another problem is with the fuel tanks, if there is a bug or any kind of foreign material it goes right to the bottom of the fuel tank and restricts flow to the injection pump. Tractor will run but will not have any power or die down going up a hill. Fix is to take both shut off valves out of the bottom of the fuel tank and clean the crap out.
