Have you checked the grease in the steering gear under the front grill? Also check the bolster shaft bushings for wear when you have the cover off to check the grease. With age & wear the bolster shaft will move to the side & put a bind on the worm & lower gear. Also asume the front end has been greased as needed. Also lower bolster shaft bushing has a zerk & lower thrust brg. Will not be like power steering but will help it turn easier. Unless you reseal the gear box it will not hold 80-90 gear oil just used gun grease. The bolster shaft will also be worn. csn be built up & turned down. Ted
