I've seen at least one M with a cummins conversion, but I don't think it was a 5.9. I've also seen Ms with Detroit diesel conversions, and of course we all have seen the Ms with the small block Chevy conversion. I have also seen an older IH pick-up truck with a diesel from a 1206 transplanted into it, and it turned out very nice and was/is a very dependable and useable truck. In short, if you want to do it bad enough, it can be done.
