Hi Ted, glow plugs are in series and should drop about 1.5V across each glow plug and 6V across dash indicator. Get yourself an Ohm meter, remove the copper wires between the glow plugs and measure resistance from screw on glow plug to engine block...should be open circuit or very high resistance in 100 meg Ohms.
