Hi K, the draft lever is only used with plows and cultivators and other implements that you want to keep in the ground at an even depth. Otherwise push the lever all the way forward.

The 784 does not have down pressure on 3pt. Only the older 2pt or 3 pt conversion hitch tractors had down pressure.

Re post hole auger, usually the reason for it not digging in the ground is the auger tips are worn out. On most models there are replaceable steel tips/points that start the screw action into the ground, if these tips become worn or broken then the auger will not screw into the ground. Works on the same principle as the old wood augers that were used before the twist drill was invented. Another tip, if you have heavy clay soil don't let the auger down more than 6" inches at a time without lifting it up to clean out the clay or it will drill down to the depth that the auger will be stuck in the hole and the only way out is to disconnect the PTO shaft and put a large pipe wrench on the auger shaft and turn it backwards so it screws itself out of the hole.
