i did a live conversion on a 48 m. the pump will fit on the front cover with the bottom 2 bolts lining up. the top two however will not. the kit i used was one i bought at an auction. there were instructions with it for the coversion. basically what you needed top do was put two bolts in the top holes, cut them off and file them smooth. you then mount the pump and redrill and tap new holes in the cover. you can do it without removing the front cover, however it is highly advisable that you go in and change the cam gear to one off a super h. my m lasted about a year and then broke the drive gear. the gears from the super fit, but they are much sturdier. the kit also had a plate that you would install on the belly pump housing that eliminated the belly pump and used that for the resevoir. i am going thru a super m right now, and i am going to add a live pump to that one. i plan on using the belly pump as the resevoir, but i am going to leave the lift all pump in it, so i have both one way and two way hydraulics. the belly pump used 30 wt motor oil, but i plan on using hy-tran, which is in my other tractors.
