I got the idea for the extra crankshaft pulley from a Farmall 450 with the Char-Lynn power steering added on - extra pulley with a roll pin through the hole in the crankshaft. Keep in mind that I can no longer crank start this tractor - there is no pin for the crank mechanism to engage. I use a "B" width/section belt to drive the pump and I ordered a pump that is specifically designed for the side load of being belt driven (about $180). I get about 15 GPM at full throttle, which is plenty to run my power steering and raise/lower the mower. I had to add on an oil cooler because the belly pump reservoir doesn't hold enough fluid to keep the temps down. I would still like to add another 3 or 4 gallons of fluid capacity some day. A good welding shop can weld an extra pulley to your crank pulley. But beware that the keyway is going to carry the load. My system has a roll pin carrying the load. I thought about modifying the front bolster to allow room inside it for a direct drive pump, but just didn't have the means at the time to make it work. In the future, I might still do that. :o) If anyone has questions, my email is open...
