I have been surprised before. Do a load test on it. Fully charge it and then discharge it with a load. If the battery has an amp/hour rating (such as 40amp/hours) Then theoretically it should put out 40 amps for one hour, or 10 amps for 4 hours and so on). One could hookup a few headlight and see how long it last, or use a battery load tester, often found at auto stores, but that just measures starting current.
