Don't have parts book now to look at,but I remember when I was double checking things in the 600,650 parts book. It showed different advance for the gas and diesel. Both used advance,diesel not much and I think the only parts different between those 2 was the rotor which controls max advance and springs which controls the RPM along with weights that advance starts and at what RPM it reaches max advance. Weights were same both. I don't know if some WD9 distributors had no advance like some of the MD sized engines or not.
