I posted about my Farmall C charging problems about two weeks ago. I just finally got a chance to work on it some more, heres a link to the previous topic... http://www.ytmag.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=farmall&th=577036 I removed the third brush from the generator. What I did with the wire that was connected to the third brush was was connect it with other brush thats not grounded. Was this correct? I then put it back together and started it up. I would get a slight charge on the ammeter with the lights off, with the lights on, the gauge would quiver around 0 charge. Then I connected a jumper to the field post of the regulator to the ground battery post and got a real good charge and plenty to keep up with the lights on. It was then working the way it should. I got around 7.70 volts with the lights off. So I removed the jumper and connected it to the base of the regulator and it quit charging. From the troubleshooting stuff that I've looked at this points to the regulator, but it is brand new. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I tried to use an easy out but it wasn't budging and I didn't want t
