I know very little about Ford tactors but isn't there an aftermarket transmission (Sherman) that bolts in somewhere to give you an additional lower range or two. Even a IH tractor with a Torque Amplifier is marginal for rototilling. Some models like a Farmall 504 (perhaps 340 as well) had a low speed first gear and may be satisfactory if the TA is functional. The Cub can be modified with an aftermarket 2 speed rear gear set and may also work. Ideally you want a hydro transmission that allows infinite speed settings. Cub Hydro is one such tractor. The first larger IH tractor would be a 544 Hydro. I use a large frame IH (660 with Fast Hitch) 80hp tractor for rototilling. This is a 10,000 lb tractor and is probably more than you want.
