most transportation, ag, and industry standards we embrace today have roots in the days that manual labor and draft animals were used. i read somewhere in europe they get on the horse on the wrong side! wonder how many things we do without thinking today have a root in the past because of manual/draft animal customs? ever notice early combines and balers have pickup on wrong side? lots of interesting things to notice. to figure out why we had to have the draft animal stuff that certain direction could pose a fun research project! karl f
