Case-IH paint in gallon cans is alkyd enamel, but it is an acrylic modified alkyd enamel -- due to UV inhibitors it will not fade as fast as the paint CIH sold a few years ago. The quarts may be the old alkyd enamel, as I bought a quart eariler this year, and it simply said "enamel", I am not sure. As long as you don't expect the acrylic modified to last forever, it is ok. For maximum durability you need acrylic or polyurethane. The rattle can paint should match good enough, at least I have heard it does. I prefer acrylic urethane, and am willing to pay the price for it -- about 3 times the price of Case-IH.
