Red's advice is probably right. But if you can move the shift lever, the lever may have popped out of alignment with the shifter rails. To fix, remove the shift lever (knock out the pin in the tower casting an pull out the lever). Look into the shift lever hole to see if the slots in all 3 shift rails are aligned. If not, jack up one rear wheel to relieve any torque load on the tranny, then use a big screwdriver to pry the misaligned rail(s) back into center (neutral) position. Replace the shift lever (make sure it's in neutral before replacing the pin!) and you should be set to go.
