I had an old welder with a Willys 4 cyl motor. It sat for years, and I decided to make it run again. The rear main leaks on it now, because it sat so long. I think the old rope seal got dry and rusted or stuck to the polished part of the crank. When I started it, I think it stuck to the crank and ruined the seal.
