Not uncommon for the block to crack behind the sleeve on M thru 450,Scale build up in the block causing areas that don't transfer heat equally thus causing cracks.In most of the years of M's antifreeze was to expensive, so tractors were drained on cold nites thus increasing the lime and calcium deposits. pull the pan and you might be able to see if it is leaking between sleeve and block.
