Resist the temptation to order the engine kit first, before inspecting the engine. You"ll need to know what size bearings to get and whether to get oversize sleeves. The oversize sleeves are to prevent the problem that Hugh was talking about. With my 282, I waited until the machine shop told me what they thought they needed, then ordered the kit. Afterwards, when they were installing the sleeves, they wanted .002 oversize on a couple of them. Shoot, we already had the kit, etc. So now I have two standard sleeves left over. It would have been easier (and cheaper) had I ordered the kit with the proper sleeves right away. I"m a little miffed at the machine shop, because their oversight cost me some $. Paul
