8 volt batterys are just a bandade fix for other problems. Plus to use them you need to have your chargeing system tweeked to put out 8-9 volts. Then you also need to find something I haven't seen in years and thats a battery charger that will put out 8 volts. A 6 volt or 12 volt charger will not charge an 8 volt battery. The 6 volt one doesn't put out enough and the 12 volt to much
