L59 Mower

I got a chance to buy an woods l59 mower that a guy said came off his cub. I know it is a l59 because that is what the decals say. I have done some research and it appears that a 59 mower is what a cub uses due to the backwards pto and others use the l59. Then again i see some people online that have an l59 on a cub. So will an l59 mower work on a cub or not?
