Can't get my M started?

My M hasn't been running right since I put the mag gears back in, thought I had them right. So I put the #1 cylinder at TDC and the rotor was off a little, so I turned the gear one cog. It ran great while I adjusted the carb. Pulled it outside and left it idle and it quit after about 3 minutes. It would start but would only run less than a minute. Pulled the carb off to check and make sure nothing was in it, checked the sediment bowl and their both clean. The flow of gas is good at the hose and out of the drain in the carb. When I can get it started it will run for a little bit and then want to die I can nurse it along with the choke, but it will eventually quit in less than a minute. Any help or suggestions is appreciated. Bobg
