neblinc was kind enought to have already posted my Troubleshooting Procedure above for you, if you work through it the cause of the problem can easily be determined, you just gotta do it as were not there to do it for you. That being said, if the coil wire is not producing any spark when its in the coil and its bare end held 1/4 inch away and the coil is getting voltage as my procedure explains, the procedure can help determine if its the points.........or the condensor,,,,,,,,,,,,or the coil etc. The answer and method to determine it is all laid out for you above, just get out your simple test lamp and/or voltmeter on the coils high input (from switch) terminal and its low output (to distributor) terminal and see if it flashes On and Off as the engine is rotated and my explanation will tell you if its the points or condensor or whats thats the cause. Let us know, best wishes n God Bless, it may well be something simple like a shorted wire or shorted out points or their wiring or a shorted or bad condensor assuming the coil is at elast getting voltage when the ignition is on???
