Dumb question of the day

Last time I was up with my tractor and we were getting it fired up, and neighbor came by who I was told has expereince in such things and said "That old Flat Head sounds pretty good!" What does "Flat Head" refer to? It's a straight 4 cylinder, but I've no idea what that term is used for.
