Choke cable on H

The H that I have does not have a choke cable.
Was there a choke cable on the H and where was it mounted on the dash and how did it connect to the carburetor? I do not see a place where a cable would connect to the carburetor so I was wondering if it had a solid rod going from the dash to the carburetor like they do on the Cub and A. I am starting to get tired of having one hand on the choke and one on the starter button.
