The low, low first gear is a kit. It requires three gears and a countershaft that has the first gear machined into it. The gear is so small that it cannot be slid onto the countershaft because it would break under load. You do not want it for pulling anyway. If your tractor is healthy, and it should be if you are pulling, there is no track or sled that will stall your motor unless you are heavily weighted and are pulling several classes above your tractor weight. And if you do that, you run the risk of destroying your transmission. I would guess the low, low tranny is more fragile than the standard. Having said all this, I took all the guts out of one of my MTA's tranny and final drive and replaced them with the late 560 parts. I now have an MTA that has a top speed of 11 mph, about the same speed as a JD and a little quicker than a Cub. I do not drive it over the road and I like it better this way. I doubt if you can do the same thing with an M.
