As usual the snow stopped about 11am, then the wind came up, sure enough it's all in my yard and driveway tonight, and yes I can see soybean stubble less than 100' from the house.

I had left the truck parked right beside the house last evening. Buick is back on drive up to tractor shed and I can just see the roof. By noon I suggested to Marg. we go into town. There is about 18" of snow on driveway about 20' in front of the house. Not much on the rest of the way down, that tends to fill in after about three plowings. On the way out, down grade the F-150 plowed through it. By the time we got back those tracks had blown full, plus a few inches. Coming up the driveway, I got a good run at that drift I was about to encounter on the upgrade. I hit it a bit too fast then couldn't get stopped. I went a long ways, getting stopped inches from Marg's bird feeder. About 6' behind the bird feeder is a utility pole. Don't know which would have been worse, running over the bird feeder and the lecture that would have followed or hitting the utility pole. The pole is where our electricity splits for house and tractor shed.

I guess it's 130 out in the morning, hopfully the wind will be gone. I'm betting those blown in wheel tracks will be hard to plow by morning. Oh well, I didn't have to call the electric company with a red face. And probably by the time they got here I'd have had to plow the snow in the wind. I'm going to stay in and act my age tonight.
