Another Hitch Question =)

Hey guys,
I need to do a conversion to use cat 1 3pt implements on my tractor. It currently has a 2pt fast hitch. I figure I can use a heavy duty turnbuckle for the upper link and mount it to where the hook is mounted here:

Now for the lower links, I was looking at buying the 2 forks, but I dont wanna spend the money. My bro said he could weld this up for me at his work:

Now, I know that I won't be able to spread the links to put the pins in, so any implements, I will just remove the pins and use bolts.
How do people normally hookup the fasthitch 3pt conversion forks to the implements, since the 2pts cant be spread anyways?

I will have my bro weld some 1X3 solid steel to extend the drawbar with links on it and drill 1" holes in the ends. How far from the beginning of the fasthitch socket should the holes be?
Right now the only implement I have is a cat II blade, but it will work fine, as I can just mount the links to the inside, instead of the typical outside of the mounts, I've already mocked it up and it will work great!!

Any tips? I just dont want to spend 200$ on a conversionm. I can have this done for next to nothing. It would be cool to have a combo drawbar/3pt lower links in one...
