J is the designation for Rockford clutch, a better clutch than the one in previous models. That suffix is usually seen only on the Super series, so it probably appeared about 1952 or so. The WDR9 is "relatively" rare and unusual, although actual production numbers are hard to come by. The engine will cost $$$$ to restore, but you will have something if you are able to find the parts. I really have no idea what it is worth in its current condition.
