If you put more than 5 quarts in the transmission, it is over filled. Level plug is behind brake rod at front of transmission on left hand side. You have to take the pin out of the brake rod clevis to get to it. Those are not overfill ports. But as the others said, but are drain holes to let out any transmission oil that leaks past the differential shaft seal into the brake chamber. If oil gets on the brake linings, you will have very little in the way of brakes soon. Even if the differential shaft seals are in decent condition, if the transmission is overfilled, you are likely to get leakage. The seals are not too hard to replace, but you do have to remove the final drives housings to do it. That and the wheels, especially the right side cast hub are heavy. So be careful and if you decide to do it, do one side at a time, and block up securely. The tractor is not very stable due to the offset design, especially when the heavy cast wheel on the right side is removed. Removing the cast wheel hub takes away the counter balance.
