The rotocap was designed to be used on exhaust valves. Its purpose is to rotate the valve a small amount each time the valve is opened so that the heat will be more evenly distributed over the entire face of the valve, and not just allowed to build up in one spot, which would cause the valve to burn and erode away. For an engine that is working its little heart out for long periods of time, the rotocaps would be a good thing to have. For normal, light work, you don't need them.
