carburator identification needed

i ordered a farmall M carb. kit from OEM tractor parts and the float valve and seat do not match my carb . i ordered the carb kit for model # DB50983 (the # on the little brass tag riveted to the throttle body) . i called OEM tractor parts and they don't have an anwser . the float seat in the kit has a slotted head and all of the seat screws into the throttle body except head ..................................... the float seat in my carb has a hex body for tightning and most of the seat sticks out when installed
