i would be a little nervous blowing compressed air into the fuel line of a carb. you may damage the float or drive dirt into passageways and then iit wont be easy to clean. sounds like you got fine sediment in the fuel tank, maybe rust. could also be your fuel storage tank is dirty so your getting less than clean fuel from your supplier. if the tractor tank is rusty, you could pull the tank and have it lined. a quick fix would be to your local napa auto parts, take your old fuel line with you. get 2 brass barb fittings , one for the sediment bowl and one for the carb. get either a 3031 or 3032 filter. they are small metal cannister filters, full flow for a gravity system. 3031 is for 1/4 inch lines, 3032 is for 5/16 fuel lines. they come with 2 hoses and 4 clamps. make up a rubber line with the filter in it. you can cut the origional line and splice it in, but if you are concerned with origionality, hang the old line on the workbench, and go with the rubber line.
