Sprout: If one travelled this continant back in the days of F series and letter series tractors, there were vast differences in crops and cropping practices. One counldn't begin to list them all. Many of those practices have changed today, and most of the men that used those tractors are all gone. It would take a lifetime to research it all. I did much of my farming in the 60s, 70s and 80s. I suppose someday someone will ask why I ran some tractors on 52" wheel tread, some on 72" wheel tread, some on 84" wheel tread and a couple on duals with insides at 66" and outside 100". There was a reason for it all. In both these cases, it would require a 500 page book to explain all. I rather doubt anyone is going to write those books. It would be a financial disaster.
