Good question, glad to see someone actually reads n cares about all this stuff sometimes lol Its what sets n imparts the residual magnetism in the gennys Field winding iron poles to the correct magnetic North/South Polarity to correspond with the same correct electrical Positive/Negative polarity so she charges at the correct polarity to match the battery ground and NOT mess up the Voltage Regulator Clear as mud ?????? Simply use a lil jumper wire or screwdriver etc to momentarily flash jump from the VR's or Cutout Relays BAT terminal over to its ARM/GEN terminal and you ought to get a small spark Alahhhhhhhhhhhhhh shes Polarized and the iron field poles have the proper North/South Magnetic polarity so she charges at the correct Electrical Pos/Neg polarity.
