A SAFE range of years to ask for is a 1975 to 1985 Chevy pickup.

WITH AC will probably get you a 65 or 70 Amp unit.

WITHOUT AC will probably get you a 45 to 55 AMP unit.

The lower Amp units are OK for your conversion, UNLESS you will have really high electrical loads.

The lower Amperage is still WAY over what a generator would put out, yet doesn't put such a high charging rate at startup though the (perhaps) old wiring and ammeter. YOUR choice!
