IH did not make a HI-LO transmission for the M. Some might consider the MTA with its Torque Amplifier a HI-LO but it is more similar in function to a power shifted two-speed axel. It cannot be retrofitted to an M. HI-LO's usually have a deeper reduction. You might be confused with optional first gear and fourth gear ratios that were available separately in kits. Sherman made something for N Fords that gave them more gear ratios but I do not think they made anything for IH.
