Dean: Your 140 is definitely a Farmall. I suspect it is the pre 67-68 model with FARMALL along side of hood, with McCormick under it in small letters. My 140 is in that same group, and I will check after daybreak. I think the main FARMALL decal on my tractor has square ends and the 140 badge has slanted ends. I think I'm right, however one gets used to seeing the tractor everyday, and sometimes forgets details. If it is different from what I said, I'll come back right after daylight. If you want to sort out which serial number is correct, go to the casting date codes. Each casting on tractor has one, and they are day, month and year with what looks like a round head, blade type screw between each. Older Farmalls used letters for the year, but your 140 should be all numbers. In the case you have letters Z is 1954, A is 55, B is 56, etc. An original tractor should have all date codes within couple months of each other, and are probably 1-3 months before tractor was actually built. If you have a casting date code off by more than 3 months, almost certain that casting has been replaced somewhere in the life of the tractor.

Radiator cores clog up with rust, lime or other mineral deposits and the fins clog up with weed seeds and debris. The metal headers slowly corrode away from years of use and
