Something I've tried in a similar situation is to run a few layers of 2" wide fabric reinforced duct tape along the hinge. The tape becomes the hinge. It's worked pretty well on one of my cases, and after several hundred open/close cycles or when it looks ratty, I just put new tape on. Dale
