Dale: that 140 in the second photo does indeed have cast spoke hubs, and I can readily see it is IH promotional literature. Let me get this straight, you are saying IH is calling those cast wheels optional in that piece of literature, right or wrong? The reason I question you on this is, I've seen photos before in IH literature, that didn't look correct, but it also was not mentioned in any text. I will admit, I paid little attention to the 140 when new during it's 21 year production run. I was very much aware it was a descendant of A, SA, 100,and 130, however paid litte attention to detail. During that period, I was into much larger tractors. Yes I had a SA and 130 but there was never any intention to trade them off for something newer. I have several buyers guides around here from the 140 era, and I can't find a single tractor produced after 1958 with cast spoke front wheels, any size. It's pressed steel front rims all the way. I do know my 130 front spindles are identical to my 140 front spindles. I also know the cast spoke hub of 130 is the same internally as my 140 hub for pressed steel rim. The bearings, seals and even the dust cap are the same. Technically, I could go to my shop this am and completely change front wheels from 130 to 140 and vice versa without any added parts. If any customer back when 140 was new, wanted cast spoke front wheels for a 140, I expect it was a very easy find for an IH dealer. I guess I'll have to see it in print to believe it was an option. As far as the Mccormick decal goes, what I have said is it disappeared from the main decal on side of engine hood of all IH tractors in late 1967 or early 1968. If you have a McCormick decal above your amp gauge, so be it, there are still small stick on McCormick decals kicking around to this day. I bought a new tractor once, had a signature written on the mufler, never thought much about it as I figured it would burn off in a matter of weeks. I don't know what Bill Murray used in signing, but it never burned off. It was still on the mufler when I replaced it with a new one.

Show Coverage: Journey to Ankeny - by Cindy Ladage. We left Illinois on the first day of July and headed north and west for Ankeny, Iowa. Minus two kids, we traveled light with only the youngest in tow. As long as a pool was at the end of our destination she was easy to please unlike the other two who have a multitude of requirements to travel with mom and dad. Amana Colonies served as a respite where we ate a family style lunch that sustained us with more food than could reasonably fit into our ample physiques. The show at Ankeny
