Hi Mark, here is how the man that ran a welding shop near us would solve your bent pipe.
Anything that heavy he would not heat to straighten but would take the cutting torch and make a cut 1/2 to 3/4 the way across from the side that you have to bend inward to straighten. Then bend the pipe until it is straight again this should close the cut made by the cutting torch now take your favourite electric welder and weld the cut closed. Far easier than heating a heavy piece of pipe and trying to get it straight.
