what i would do if i was serious about doing what you said and agreeing with everyone else but i have a cast iron stove that gets a fire burnt in it everyday during the winter i have had it 7 yrs and nothing is wrong with it its not warped or cracked but if your sinking money into this thing i myself would take the one you have to a salvage somewhere and ask them if they had one like it and explain to them what your going to do and what you need and you would like to trade a good one out with the one you have might be surprised what you get just my 2 cents
