If it were me it would be the 340 hands down, more power, live PTO, T/A. If you are going to use around the house the wide front would be better, more stable. A good factory wide front for a 240 or 340 is big bucks, have seen them priced at about what your price difference is. Parts are going to be more plentiful for the 340 as well. Why not buy both??
