I live a few miles from Jimmy King and we are still buried under a pile of ice. I'm on day 7 without power or water. 33 in the house this AM. I'm staying at my 78 year mothers and keeping the generator that my dad had the for sight to have wired up 10 years ago to the fuse panel. It's running the heat, lights and fireplace ensert real well. We are getting more snow this weekend and starting off the week with single digit temps again. I drained my pressure tank and hot water heater and put antifreeze in the stools "by the way they sure get cold!". We are better off than some. I have no cattle to worry about for one and one of my coworkers had to take her new baby home to a cold dark house today. On a upnote yesterday I counted 50 down power poles within a mile of me and today they are just about all replaced by guys that came down from KC. Those utility guys have sure been putting out for us. They have familys to worry about also and they are out there killing their selfs for us. THANKS guys. Good luck Old, Jimmy, Harley and Hal and others. An oldtimer told me back in Sept. look out for a bad winter. He said the Almanac said it would be rough for us and he was right.
