Probably the best thing for you to do is to tie into the hoses going to your hitch (you could use some standard quick-connects to switch between the cylinder on your hitch and the connections to the log splitter). Then all you should have to do is to tie the tractor's control valve handle in the up position, and you should have the hydraulic pressure you need assuming your splitter's control valve is a standard, open-center design.
