Hi, According to the chart on this sight that ID9 should be a 1942. I agree that 500 should buy it. I have run a WD9 since 68, put more than 10000 hours on it. The biggest diferances between An I and a W are diferent fenders, 3rd and 4th gears are much faster in the I, the I will have 30 inch rear tires, the W will have 34, the I may not be as likely to have pto or a belt pulley, you may want to check, but they can be added. Sounds like you are not familiar with these old diesels. They do indeed have a gas system on one side and diesel on the other. while on the seat there is a decompression lever on the left and the throttle is on the right. When you move both to the downward position it is ready to start on gasoline. You will find a round 7/8 gallon gas tank on the right side. There is a third valve in each cylinder that is now open to an extra chamber which contains the spark plug and lowers the compression ratio. There is a dual intake manifold which contains a spring loaded butterfly that now directs the air through the carbuerator and also has a switch that ungrounds the magnito. The engine runs on gasoline long enough to warm it enough to switch to diesel, about 1 to 3 minutes. To switch you move the left lever all the way up and the throttle far enough to provide sufficient diesel to keep runing. This closes the third valve, changes the manifold butterfly, grounds the magnito, and closes the carbuerator float. Hope this gives you a quick idea of how it works. IH used this starting system from 1936 with the WD40 through the 450 in 1957. Good luck and keep us posted, Chuck
